To be fair we never really went away, but we did slow down for a while. Alys has been dealing with some complicated health problems but is gradually getting back behind the camera.
Stepping away from weddings
To adapt to Alys’ circumstances we’ve had to make some changes. The big one is that we are no longer taking on weddings. While we enjoy photographing weddings they’re just too physically demanding. It’s not an easy decision, but it takes the pressure off and allows us to concentrate on other areas of photography, specifically Portraiture and Events.
More focus on Events
Andy has been photographing dog shows for a few years now. Over that time we’ve collected the experience and equipment we need to extend our event work to other types of events. We’ll now be taking on corporate and charity events, school proms, and wedding receptions.
We’re now fully equipped to provide high quality photographic prints on the day of the event, so your guests can take their photograph away with them.
We can attend both indoor and outdoor events. We have a portable studio that takes the form of a heavy duty 6x3m gazebo. We can even run off-grid using our generator.
Illuminate Photography Training, which we run in partnership with another local photographer, is going from strength to strength and we’re rolling out a number of new courses. We now run courses on behalf of a local camera club and two large wildlife charities.
Portraiture was always a large part of our work, and it still is. We love photographing families of all sizes, both at home and out on location.
As well as families, Andy is available to photograph more fashion-styled images out on location using “big flash”. This type of imagery is suited to those wanting some unique photographs of individuals, couples, small groups of close friends, or even bands.
As well as family portraiture we’re also available for business portraiture work including headshots and team photographs.
